Brinda has been learning Kuchipudi dance for the past 12 years under her mother and guru, Smt. Sireesha Avadhanam. She finds immense joy in mastering this classical art form and cherishes the depth and beauty it offers. In the spring of 2025, Brinda graduated from Del Norte High School and has balanced her passion for dance with an impressive academic and extracurricular portfolio.

Brinda has performed at various art festivals and cultural events across Southern California, receiving accolades for her authentic style and maturity. Her training in India under renowned gurus like Dr. Yamini Yashoda Kalluri and Dr. Haleem Khan further enriched her understanding of Kuchipudi. In the summer of 2018, she had the honor of performing at the historic Nataraja Temple in Chidambaram, Tamil Nadu, and Shilparamam in Hyderabad, Telangana. Her dedication was recognized with the "Natya Siromani" award from Kalapeet.

Brinda successfully completed Kuchipudi Certification Courses from Potti Sriramulu University through Silicon Andhra University’s SAMPADA program. She continues her Tala training under Guru Sri Renuka Prasad, refining her skills in rhythm and musical precision. Beyond dance, Brinda is an accomplished violinist, having completed six levels with the Royal Conservatory of Music and performing in various recitals.

Brinda stands out not only for her graceful performances but also for her commitment to service and teaching. As an active volunteer at our academy, she spent Summer 2024 leading a community outreach program, where she introduced audiences at public libraries to four unique expressions of Kuchipudi Abhinaya. Brinda also trains students at the academy, nurturing a love for classical dance among younger learners.

 

Brinda has completed her first year at the University of Southern California, where she is majoring in Human Development and Aging. With aspirations to become a physician, she hopes to serve underprivileged communities by combining her passion for science with her dedication to making a meaningful impact.

Through dance, volunteer work, and research, Brinda has shaped herself into a resilient, compassionate, and disciplined individual. She remains committed to pursuing excellence in Kuchipudi with the same perseverance and devotion that have defined her journey thus far.
