Sriya Avadhanam
Sriya Avadhanam is an accomplished young Kuchipudi artist with over 18 years of rigorous training and practice in the classical tradition. Growing up in a culturally rich environment, she immersed herself in the nuances of nritta, nrutya, and abhinaya, steadily evolving into a thoughtful performer with a deep respect for the art form.
She has performed at several prestigious cultural venues across India, including the Chidambaram Temple, Shilparamam, Tirupati, and multiple stages in Hyderabad, earning appreciation for her grace, precision, and expressive clarity. Her dedication to Kuchipudi has been recognized with the Kala Ratna Award, a testament to her commitment and artistic merit.
Beyond performance, Sriya is an active contributor to the dance community. She conducts workshops, lecture demonstrations, and fundraising events, using dance as a medium for education, cultural preservation, and social impact. Her ability to connect with diverse audiences - students, scholars, and community members alike - reflects her maturity as both an artist and a communicator.
Sriya has completed her Diploma in Kuchipudi and continues to advance her training while simultaneously pursuing a demanding academic path. She is currently a Clinical Research Associate with the UC San Diego Movement Disorders Team, where she contributes to meaningful scientific work. With a long‑term goal of becoming a medical doctor, she exemplifies the rare balance of artistic excellence and academic ambition.
